The certain problems are discussed that originate from classic works by Zhukovsky: the model of material point moving in a resisting medium, longitudinal flight of an aircraft, self-rotation of a plate. Adding some elements into mathematical models allowed new properties of rotational and translational motion of a body to be revealed. These properties were confirmed not only qualitatively but also quantitatively in the context of the dynamical 2nd-order system under study that is based on quasi-static model of aerodynamic impact on the plate.
