It is shown that when an electric-conducting body is under action of an external force, for example at impact, the electric charges within the body are separated in the direction of deformation and an electric current flows in it. The effect is increased if the body is exposed to an external constant magnetic field. Mechanisms of the two phenomena and applied utilization of the study results are discussed.
