The study focuses on absorption of plane Alfven waves in inhomogeneous incompressible dissipative plasma and the absorption dependence on the wave frequency. Results suggest that taking into account bremsstrahlung leads to the finiteness of the Alfven wave penetration depth into dissipative plasma and to the appearance of a steady quasistationary absorption regime. The parameters of this regime are the solutions of a certain boundary-value problem for a system of ordinary differential equations on the half-line. Moreover, we considered two types of density inhomogeneities distributed by Gaussian law --- the hump and hollow. Finally, we obtained the dependences of the Alfven wave penetration depth and the maximum values of electron and ion temperature on the value of the hump and frequency of the falling wave

The study was supported by a grant from the Russian Science Foundation (project no. 16-11-10278)
