The developed parallel numerical algorithms are presented for solving problems of magnetic hydrodynamics by the RKDG method and certain classes of problems of aerodynamics by vortex element methods. Examples of solving the problems at the computing cluster for training and experiments of the “Applied Mathematics” department of the Bauman Moscow State Technical University are given. The efficiency of parallelizing computations in the OpenFOAM software package is studied, and the recommendations on improvement of the cluster operation efficiency are formulated. An issue of development of the learning course on parallel computing included in the department curriculum is considered.
