A model of thermal-mechanical processes in thin-wall composite shells at high temperatures is offered which takes into account the thermal destruction effects, interlayer and transversal stresses in the shell as well as the change of composite properties in heating. A numerical method for designing thermally-destructing composite shells is developed on the basis of the finite element method and the small parameter method in combination with the finite-difference method for a system of equations of the internal heat and mass transfer. An example of calculation of thermal stresses in the cylindrical composite shell under the local laser heating is presented.
