A mathematical model of dynamics of a rotating ring on supports, which is exposed to cutting forces in the process of turning, is formulated. The formulas are derived which allow the standing wave precession to be taken into account during the determination of internal friction forces. Based on the analysis of the derived equations, the possibility of precession resonance occurrence is shown. Calculation results are given.
